Satan Shorts Clovenhoof edition by Heide Goody Iain Grant Literature Fiction eBooks
I am a voraciously avid reader and read daily - sometimes two or three books a day. Being a subscriber to Kindle Unlimited I have read a slew of self-published "e-authors" works that have, for the most part been between "passable" and "pretty good", lots of them with poor editing, typos, and predictable plots. I was not expecting much when I "borrowed" the first book in the "Clovenhoof" series - boy was I delighted to be wrong! The writing is professionally edited, the characters are clearly defined, and the plot is hilarious! I can't remember the last time I laughed out loud so many times reading one book! I immediately moved on to the next, and next reading all in this series, including the short story collection "Satan's Shorts". The only one I found to be less delightful than the rest was "Godsquad" (Clovenhoof Book 3). While it was still an enjoyable read, it was based on side characters and missing the antics of Jeremy Clovenhoof and his house neighbors, and the (ex) Arch Angel Michael (Pigeonwings) - these are the characters that kept me laughing and wanting more! I do hope this writing collaboration of Heide Goody and Iain Grant continues and am "praying" there are more Clovenhoof stories to come!Product details

Satan Shorts Clovenhoof edition by Heide Goody Iain Grant Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
Satan's Shorts is hilarious! I haven't read Clovenhoof yet but I didn't get lost, this is so fun with something crazy and clever going on every page. I can't wait to read more!
While this collection of short stories comes third in the series, I recommend reading it directly after Clovenhoof. There are a few character developments that take place in Pigeonwings that are not represented here, so logically, I believe it comes before that one. For the most part, the stories focus on Clovenhoof's antics with Nerys and Ben. However, there are a couple that introduce new characters to the series, namely St. Christopher. Overall, it was a quick and fun read.
If you haven't read Clovenhoof and Pigeonwings then do yourself a favor and check them out. Lots of laugh out loud moments and a deep thought or two... This collection of shorts really comes between the two novels and explains a few things. But mainly it's worth reading for the good laughs. Goody and Grant have made the Lord of the Underworld into an almost sympathetic character as he confronts the mortal world with just Lambrini, a sense of humor and two friends who are up for almost anything. Best of all, it's not preaching to you, just offering many laughs at this thing we call life.
Several short stories containing characters from the previous three book. An oddly irreverent, motley crew of characters at that.
Several stories seem to have been written before the actual Clovenhoof arc, and that's fine. The biggest one outside the story arc is when three take night classes.
Herein rest other stories of Clovenhoof's first days on earth. And his fear of prison. Knowing real prison is not a reality TV show.
These shorts add depth to the Clovenhoof saga. Most are real snorters.
Good fun.
Honestly, at this point I really don't even know what's going on.
I've been reading these books in order and I don't know what the hell the author is thinking. In God Squad, the book focuses on entirely different characters than the previous books, which I really don't care about. I was never invested in Joan of Arc and now we got a whole book about her.
So we have Satan's Shorts and it feels like it ignores events that happened in others. There's no discussion of Ben's marriage. So far it looks like Saint Michael no longer exists. What is going on? Is this just supposed to be some sort of supplementary book?
Why doesn't Nery's still have the knowledge of Clovenhoof really being Satan?
I don't like spending three books reading about character and then it all being completely discarded.
NOT kindle unlimited, got on freebie day, read through the others wanted to see what 'shorts' there were. The ones listed below at one time were individual books or whatever but as of this writing only show up individually for review via goodreads NOT .
